Want That Wedding Bridal Shoot >> featured on Rock n Roll Bride!

I’m pleased as punch to be sharing this styled shoot I photographed for Want That Wedding in December.    Considering she only had less than a couple of weeks to pull it all together, I think Sonia of WTW did the most amazing job in styling this up – I’m not sure I could have done half the job she did!  We wanted to do something a little bit different, something a little bit bold and bright, so a neon sign, neon food colouring and a few multi-coloured pom poms later, here’s what we came up with….

I’ve just blogged a selection of photos from the shoot so please pop on over to Want That Wedding to see the rest and to read Sonia’s write up about her inspirations behind it all.  Alternatively, the shoot’s also just been featured on Rock n Roll Bride so you can have a squiz there too if you haven’t had enough of neon wonderfulness.

A big thank you to the fabulous team involved. Honestly, I can’t say enough how much I adore the work of Gemma and Jo (our wonderful make up artist and hair stylist), they really are top of their game.  Also thank you to One Marylebone for letting us shoot in their Galleries – I’m totally in love with that venue and if you’re a bride getting married in London you really need to go check it out.  And those gorgeous frocks and accessories don’t really need any words, do they? Just please go check out Kitty & Dulcie, OhMyHoney, Kelly Spence and our other lovely vendor’s sites and you will fall instantly in love.  Full credit list below so set aside a good hour to click away!  Last but never least, a big thanks to Cris and Mel for assisting on the day. x

BRIDAL >> Town Hall Hotel Vintage Glam Bridal Shoot

I don’t quite know if it’s possible to be in love with a venue, but if it is, I think I’m a little bit in love with the Town Hall Hotel.   A pocket of luxury nestled away in unlikely Bethnal Green, it features not only a Michelin star restaurant, breath-taking,  individually designed rooms, and hallways dripping with pieces by up-and-coming artists, but it also houses a gorgeous set of unique venues for weddings.   (And, word has it, that a certain rock legend did a photoshoot there not too long ago!).

I have to admit, I was more than excited to be able to shoot here….

The venue really called for a vintage vibe, but a sophisticated one.  I was thinking Mad Men, 60s film noir, Sophia Loren.  Speaking of Sophia’s, doesn’t our model Sophia St Viller look breathtaking?  That titan hair is to die for.  And this 60’s style shift dress was on loan to us by the lovely ladies at Fur Coat No Knickers – we had so many lovely comments about this dress on the shoot and every bride owes it to themselves to check out FCNK’s boutique in Carnaby Street!

A few weeks before the shoot, I’d met Kate of Kate Ruth Romey, a wedding stationery designer and she was gorgeous enough to not only give us some stationery for the shoot, but she designed a whole set specifically!  How lovely was that?  But that’s what she’s really good at, finding out what your themes and inspirations are, and transforming it into something just perfect for you.  The stationery was not only absolutely lovely, but perfect for our theme!

You might remember I did a jewellery product shoot not too long ago, for Jane Branney, a talented jeweller based in Yorkshire.  She was kind enough to lend us some pieces for the shoot.  The silver earrings below are my favourite – the silver has been imprinted with vintage lace so it has a unique pattern!

Make up was by Victoria Wallen and Ciara Hatton and I was chuffed to bits when they said they’d be on board, especially as I’ve worked with Victoria before and knew she’d knock it out of the park.  Which both her and Ciara totally did!  I know our models Sophia and Lara are gorgeous anyway, but the hair! The eyelashes! The eye make up!  I would really rather like either Victoria or Ciara to live in my make up bag.  Unfortunately for me, they’re busy beautifying actresses for telly and brides for their big day!

Oh, and did I mention the hotel as the most gorgeous indoor pool?

As you can see, the hotel hosts an eclectic mix of architectural styles and decorative influences, but that’s part of it’s charm.  It all works together beautifully, and there isn’t a dull corner.

Luxe Bridal Shoot : Preview!

OK, I’m not normally a fan of sneak peeks or previews – I always can’t help but think just show us ALL the photos already! 🙂  If it weren’t for the fact that I haven’t blogged in a few weeks, I wouldn’t be cheekily be doing one now.  Here’s just one photo from Wednesday’s bridal shoot starring the absolutely fabulous Sophia St Villier.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t get any more gorgeous than this?

All credits to follow when I blog this properly, but in the meantime I have a scrummy Hampstead wedding to finish editing!  Have a lovely weekend everyone.

WEDDINGS & BRIDAL >> Jane Austen Inspired Styled Shoot

Sometimes as a photographer, you’ve got to go on the hunt for something interesting or pretty to photograph. Other times, it’s just all laid out on a plate for you.  This was the case last Monday when I, along with a bunch of other photographers descended on Wiston House in Sussex for a stylised Jane Austen themed shoot organised by the multi-talented Melissa Love.  What a brilliant day, though you’ll never know how much I wanted pilfer a scone!

Time for credits!!  A list of vendors below, but thanks so much also to the fab models: Meredith Hepner Phillips Theodorou, Jeremy Chapman, Rheya Brigman and all the kiddie models who were so patient with us adults shoving lenses in their faces!
